The Ereen deposit lies within the North Khentei gold belt which is bounded by the north-west by the Bayangol fault system and by the south-east by the Yeroogol (or Sujigtei) fault system. Both fault systems have a similar south-west-north-east trend (generally NE45°). Faults are of east-west, north-south and north-western direction. Regional scale is north-easterly trending. Sujigtei fault controls position of the large-scale Gatsuurt gold deposit. Ereen occurs inside regional magnetic anomaly. The average size of visible Au is reported to be 1mm. Results of combined IP (induced polarization), magnetic surveys and gold in soil anomalies and l48 diamond drillholes in the Ereen area show an anomaly to the south-east of the drilled area and remains to be tested as it did a similar anomaly on the Baavgait license. Ereen gold deposit shows the potential at depth of mineralization using the elevation of Gatsuurt as a guide to possible depth extent of mineralization. Keywords

The Ereen deposit lies within the North Khentei gold belt, which is bounded by the north-west by the Bayangol fault system and to the south-east by the Yeroogol (or Sujigtei) fault system. The preliminary exploration has just been conducted at the deposit, where the resource estimation achieved indicates a possible médium-scale mine, cut-off grade has not been finalized and therefore the mining boundary cannot be defined. The cut-off grade will be achieved by thorough economic and technical study. The findings from the site visit and the current exploration are favourable for open pit mining; however, the parameters for the pit development will need to be included in the project feasibility study and mine design in the future. The current engineering geology and hydrogeology study are still very basic and cannot satisfy the mine design requirements in the future. For the future mining operation, the company needs to engage in a contract with the local electricity supply. The site visit found that water supply seems sufficient. Keywords

Using plasma emission spectrometer and atom atomic fluorescence spectrometry analysis and the heavy metals of the soil samples, which are scientifically collected in business zone, living zone, agricultural zone and industrial zone of Ereen. The results show that different functional zones of Ereen present different distribution characteristics of heavy metals in soil, As, Cd, Cu, Hg , Zn of industrial zone and Cd in business zone, living zone and agricultural zone are all exceed the national soil environmental quality standards. The content of heavy metals in upper soil is higher than in the subsoil in the study area, which shows that artificial external pollution input potential influence on the soil of Ereen. Agricultural zone of Ereen is less pollution, industrial zone is polluted seriously, commercial and residential both achieve the moderate pollution, thus should strengthen scientific control and governance. Keywords

The gold mineralization in Ereen deposit is confined spatially with hydrothermal alteration of rhyolite, Ereen deposit area was affected by three tectonic and consecutively, three hydrothermal alteration cycles. The Ereen southern mineralized zone is characterized by extensive quartz veining and a series of ore bodies with similar east-north-easterly striking and south-east dip direction, but the northern zone is different. Keywords

The Mineral Mathematical Model Software and Micromine Software from abroad for digitization analysis were used to study some of the mines in Ereen gold mine in Mandal Soum, Selenge province, Mongolia. This study dealt with: primitive database construction, sample statistical analysis, lithology modelling, variation function, grade modelling, etc. Finally,a three-dimensional space model of ore bodies was established, on the basis of this mineral mathematical model. These results of digitization research enormously make the mine production management become more convenient, and have provided the scientific basis for mine prospecting project design, mining engineering design and economic evaluation. Keywords

The objective of this environmental due diligence review is to identify and or verify the existing and potential environmental liabilities and risks, and assess any associated proposed remediation measures for the Ereen gold mine. The results show that area of soil and water conservation measure was produced prior to 5 measures mentioned above, belong to a positive design process, closing hillside of which has been decided lately, other 4 measures were produced between these two factors. The four measures were not been decided simultaneously, have the trend of building soil and water conservation forest and building economic forest prior to terracing and conservation tillage, but they are independent to each other, belong to parallel coupled design. Conservation tillage, terracing, building economic forest, building soil and water conservation forest account for 31%,12%,21%,24% of area of soil and water conservation measure, which has some change extent. Keywords
